It's weekend again, we have something good again! I also discovered homemade savarins, made with breadcrumbs and I can say how delicious they are! That's how I remembered the wonderful cakes that we eat with pleasure at the confectionery, as a child, when we were looking for that real whipped cream!

  • We need:

  • 5 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 5-6 tablespoons sugar
  • flavors (I put vanilla extract)
  • Syrup:
  • water (500 ml)
  • sugar (500 gr)
  • rum essence (2 vials)

Filling:

  • 400 ml liquid cream
  • raspberry jam, or other sour jams

Servings: 12

Preparation time: less than 60 minutes

Savarine RECIPE PREPARATION:


Beat the egg whites until stiff. Separately, beat the yolks with sugar until a fine foam is formed. To this are added the flavors and breadcrumbs, which are incorporated spoon by spoon. Now it's time to incorporate the egg white foam, mixing from top to bottom with a spatula. The dough obtained is poured into greased shapes and lined with flour (if you use silicone molds, like mine, just grease the molds with a little oil before use).

Put them in the oven until they pass the toothpick test and acquire a beautiful golden color (190 degrees, 15-20 min.)

Carefully remove from the molds (after they have cooled), and in the meantime prepare the syrup: boil the water with the sugar, until it binds a little, then cool a little and add the rum. After the syrup has cooled completely, pour it slowly over the savarines. (I preferred to soak each savarina separately in syrup, then I poured a little more in the tray, so that they gently draw the liquid and soak).

Put a little raspberry jam on each syrupy savarina, then follow a word of freshly beaten whipped cream and decorate according to your preference (I also placed a raspberry jam on top of the whipped cream). Let cool until ready to serve. They are extraordinary!

pt. speed, and for that I had syrups of all kinds prepared by me in the house, I preferred that, instead of the classic syrup presented, I mix a little cold water with shock syrup and rum essence. In this way I had the syrup ready cooled for. savarine and it was also very good!
